The volunteering kids participating the “Art on the Fishing Rod” project, exhibited their one-of-a-kind creations that were made of the wastes they collected from the seas. The exhibition took place in Akmerkez.

Plastic wastes are poisoning life all around the world. These plastic wastes and microplastics also enter the food chain finally resulting with our food becoming contaminated with plastic and the toxins these plastics absorb from the environment. Microplastics also contaminate the water sources, the air and the soil.

Feeling responsible and wanting to do something about this problem, the children did not stay silent and achieved a wonderful project. These environmentalist kids created awareness by opening their first exhibition of the “Art on the Fishing Rod” project. The children, who at first were educated about marine pollution, collected lots of plastic trash from the seas and coastlines. Then they created 25 amazing artworks coloring and decorating the 80 kilos of trash they had collected.
