UÖML Graduates of 2020 Off to College

The students who got accepted to Boğaziçi University, and the scholarship faculties of the Turkish universities such as Koç, Özyeğin, Bahçeşehir, Yeditepe, and Işık universities, prepared their applications together with their in-school college counselors. The graduates who will be studying abroad got accepted to the universities in America, Europe, and Israel with the counseling of their overseas university counselors.

Röne Kaspi, the Ulus Jewish Schools Education Coordinator, while evaluating the preparation process and the 2020 University entry successes, remarked, "The university education plans of our students are nearly finished by the beginning of their 11th year. We are teaching our students who choose to study university in Turkey or abroad, separate classes, a separate education program, for them to be able to be accepted in the universities and departments of their choice.

For many years now, nearly all our students are being accepted to the universities they want, most of them into their first three choices. In our school, we have AP (Advance Placement) classes in Math, Physics, Chemistry, Psychology, Computer, and Art, which play an important role in the applications to universities abroad. Our students study for the AP exams along with the people who are professionals in their fields. Getting high scores in the AP exams, our students get the chance to use them as credits for their first-year classes.

Our students who plan to study abroad and their parents get together with the overseas counselors during the year. Together they determine the countries, universities, and departments to apply; follow up the application and admission process. With the counselor's guidance, our students meet with the university representatives either in our school or online.

In the last couple of years, with the universities in Europe offering increasing opportunities, our students and their parents have started to prefer European universities.

We are proud of all our graduates' success. While we are biding them farewell we want to send them a message: Dear 12th graders, 2020 UÖML graduates, due to the pandemic we couldn't say goodbye to you holding you close. You always made us proud. You're leaving with many beautiful memories. But you will come back. To reminisce, to hug your friends and teachers, to sit at your old desk... Ulus Jewish School is your home. We wish you a wonderful future."
