The Little Prince Speaks Ladino Now

World-famous The Little Prince novel has now been translated into Ladino, the language spoken by Sephardic Jews, and also became an audiobook. Both the translation and the voice-over of the novel published in the framework of "The Little Prince in Anatolian Languages Project", were realized by Forti Barokas.
"The Little Prince in Anatolian Languages Project" is a project that has set out to keep alive the languages spoken in the Anatolian lands in the past and today and to provide material to those who would like to learn or teach these languages. The project aims to turn The Little Prince, the novel translated into the maximum number of languages in the world, into audiobooks in all the languages living in Anatolia, thus creating awareness about the various languages spoken in Turkey and providing a source for people who want to learn their native languages.
Özlem Durmaz's project, realized with the support of the EU programme Sivil Düşün, has, until now, been broadcast in Laz (Lazuri), Kurdish, Homshetsi, Armenian, and Ladino languages. The plan is to continue the project with the other languages spoken in Turkey.
The Ladino version & the Turkish version
The reason The Little Prince written by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry and published in 1943 was chosen as the first book for the project, is The Little Prince's being a world-famous and widely read novel reaching everyone, young and old, all around the world.
The audiobooks with subtitles produced in the scope of the project can be reached via the YouTube and Spotify accounts of The Little Prince in Anatolian Languages (the account name is "Anadolu Dillerinde Küçük Prens" in Turkish) as well as via the content shared in various social media accounts, listed below. Also, you can get the limited edition Ladino translation of the novel which was published in order to be distributed, via the Istanbul Sephardic Center.
