The Princes' Islands Foundation and Museum of the Princes' Islands, which continue the cultural and artistic activities throughout the year, is organizing a book festival titled "Writers From Islands - Writers Who Wrote Islands (Adalı Yazarlar - Adaları Yazanlar)" at Çelik Gülersoy Culture and Art Center located at the Büyükada Çınar Square in Büyükada, in cooperation with the Municipality of Princes' Islands and Princes' Islands City Council, on August 18 and August 26-27.

The first event will start with the "Mıgırdıç Margosyan Memorial" on Friday, August 18th at 19:30. Selma Margosyan, Pakrat Estukyan (from Agos Newspaper), Yusuf Kenan Beysülen (Documentary Filmmaker) will attend as speakers to the event which will be moderated by Oral Çalışlar. Furthermore, Cartoonist Kemal Gökhan's "Lined Interview with Margosyan" Exhibition will take place in the garden of Çelik Gülersoy Culture and Art Center.

On Saturday, August 26th, at 17:30, a chat on Yakup Barokas's book "The Büyükada of My Childhood: 1951-1971" moderated by Silvyo Ovadya will take place. Nino Varon will also attend the event as a speaker.

At 19:30, Ipek Çalişlar will make a presentation about her novels titled "3 Women". On the same day, a chat will be organized bringing together many writers who had reflected their memories about the Princes' Islands in their books such as Viktor Albukrek, Adil Bali, Ahmet Tanrıverdi, Orhan Şevki, and Robert Schild. The activity to be moderated by Halim Bulut will be titled "Those Who Wrote the History of the Princes' Islands through Memories, Interviews, and Testimonies". Also on the same day, a chat will be organized with the writer Ayçe Ayyildiz Baturay, in the garden of the Heybeliada Library, at 17:00hrs.

On Sunday, the guest of the festival will be Ahmet Ümit. The speech expected to be of great interest will take place in the garden of Çelik Gülersoy Culture and Art Center.

In the case of his book about the Heybeliada (Halki) Theological School being out of print, an interview with Alberto Modiano will take place on the same day, at 14:00hrs.

Many writers from Princes' Islands such as Ayçe Ayyıldız Baturay, Serço Ekşiyan, Ateş Evirgen, and Bercuhi Berberyan are expected to participate in the activities organized. Throughout the event, book displays and sales will take place at the Çelik Gülersoy Culture and Art Center and some writers will be signing their books.
