The Imam Who Had Called to Arms Has Been Suspended
Imam Murat Gündoğdu, who was discovered to have made a ´call to arms´ to the congregation in the Cebeci Mosque in Sultangazi, Istanbul, has been suspended. May 25, 2023

During the khutbah, Murat Gündoğdu had said, "Brothers, prepare your weapons. Set up your weapons on the evening of May 28, I have two guns, fully loaded. I dare you. How much have we suffered because of you? How much has this country suffered because of you, from the Armenian seeds? We have so many martyrs."
Following the statements, it was seen that the citizens in the mosque had reacted to Imam Gündoğdu.
After the scandalous talk came into the agenda and created a great outcry among the public, the Directorate of Religious Affairs had started an investigation on Monday.
The Directorate decided on Tuesday to suspend the imam of the mosque, Gündoğdu, as a part of the investigation.
