Following Izel Rozental's opening speech of the exhibition, on behalf of the institution, where the portraits of 134 artists, writers, musicians, and philosophers are included, the photography artist Alberto Modiano taking the stand, talked about the importance of the exhibition.

Modiano, comparing every one of the artists to a flower, stated that the art gallery resembled a colorful garden and thanked everyone and all the institutions that had contributed to this project. Then Modiano's 40th-anniversary cake came and was cut by his wife Rose. A beautiful photo was taken together with all the participating artists in this amazing atmosphere.

The photographs in this exhibition are black and white. Alberto Modiano who has been interested in photography for 40 years, believes that black and white photographs better accommodate emotions with their many tonalities that extend from analog photography times to our day.

I have been following my colleague Alberto's project for a long time. Before he started working with us he had studied cinema and participated in the Turkish Cultural Studies certificate program. He is someone who believes that issue of oral history is very important for a community and that these kinds of projects are really important for the future as the generations are being lost. Alberto who has also recorded a video during this project, will soon be uploading his film to YouTube.

An album of the exhibition, which will be open until June 4th, is also available.
