Israeli Ambassador Irit Lillian Presented Her Letter of Credence to President Erdoğan

The Sri Lankan Ambassador Saranya Hasanthi Urugodawatte Dissanayake, the Uruguayan Ambassador Hugo Cayrús, the Israeli Ambassador Irit Lillian, and the Kyrgyz Ambassador Rusian Kazakbaev presented their diplomatic credentials to President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan at the Presidential Complex. Erdoğan accepted the ambassadors separately.

During the meeting at the Presidential Complex, Irit Lillian presented Erdoğan with her diplomatic credentials. When Lillian greeted Erdoğan saying "Nasılsınız? ['How are you?' in Turkish], Erdoğan responded saying, "Sağ olun, siz nasılsınız? [Thank you, how are you?]". After Lillian introduced some embassy employees to Erdoğan, a souvenir photo was taken.

Irit Lillian was born in Rehovot, Israel, in 1962. While serving in the Israeli army, Lillian was a producer and editor on the IDF (Israeli Defense Forces) Radio. Following her military service, she earned a B.A. from Tel Aviv University and an M.A. from the HUJ (The Hebrew University of Jerusalem). Lillian joined the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 1986. Between the years 2015 and 2019, she served as Israel's Ambassador to Bulgaria. From 2019 until today, she had been serving as the Israeli Charge d'Affaires in Ankara.
