The former Chief Rabbi of Turkey Rabbi David Asseo has been commemorated by his grave at Ulus Jewish Cemetery in Istanbul.

Former Chief Rabbi of Turkey Rabbi David Asseo Commemorated

Rabbi David Asseo, who had acted as the religious leader of Turkish Jews for 42 years starting from the year 1960, and the community administrators who had passed away were commemorated on Wednesday, August 3rd, in the Ulus Jewish Cemetery in Istanbul.

Rabbi Asseo, born in 1914, besides Turkish, also had spoken Hebrew, French, English, Spanish, Italian, Ladino (Judeo Spanish), and Aramaic. Chief Rabbi Asseo also had many published researches and articles on Torah, Talmud, and Jewish Culture.
