Sukkah in Ankara Synagogue
Sukkot is celebrated in the Ankara Synagogue.One of the most important holidays of Jewish calendar, Sukkot, is celebrated in the Ankara Synagogue joyfully, by the Ankara Jewish community together with a large group of Istanbul Jewish community members visiting the synagogue. Sukkot, celebrates the gathering of the harvest and commemorates the miraculous protection provided for the Jewish people when they left Egypt.
The Sukkot celebration was praised in Turkish Jewish Community's twitter account as follows: "We welcomed Moshe Rabenu in the Sukkah of Ankara Synagogue. In the morning, we prayed our morning tefilah with an etrog (citron), a lulav (palm frond), hadassim (myrtle twigs) and aravot (willow twigs). We prayed the traditional 'anoten' for our government's success and headed back to Istanbul. Moadim Le Simha."
