Fortüne & Isak Pinhas

He was born in Çorlu, Turkey... Because he had lost his father when he was just a small kid, he had a tough childhood... He had moved to Israel in 1948, but never lost his touch with Turkey...

In 1939 at school a friend of his made a donation of 10 kuruş (1 tenth of 1 lira) in his name, yet he couldn’t pay him back... This made him feel bad all his life... Thus, he finally found a way to pay his debt by making a school in Çorlu...

After he had left Turkey in 1948, the first time he came back was with his wife Fortüne in 1988. At that time, he wanted to visit the school he went to in Çorlu as a kid. Unfortunately, the school had vanished.

Isak Pinhas who always said “The future of a country are the children”, knew how important it was to educate the kids. After seeing his school was not in its place anymore, he made this his life’s purpose and finally in 2010, he established a school of 32 classes in Çorlu, showing everyone how good his heart was and how atteched to Turkey he still was...
