We Commemorate the Great Turkish Leader; Atatürk
Today we commemorate our nation´s great leader, creator of the Turkish Republic, Atatürk, on his 82nd year death anniversary, with respect, gratitude, and longing.
During the Ottoman Empire, Turkish people didn't have a say in their destinies; they couldn't act, speak, live as they wanted to. Many people were uneducated. Atatürk changed all these. All his life he strived to make our country a civilized, independent country. He managed to do so in just 10 years, with many reforms, right after he led the Turkish people through slavery and dependency both to the empire and other nations, with the War of Independence.
Today on November 10th, 2020, we are commemorating Atatürk, who built the Turkish Republic and granted us, the Turkish people, our freedom, on his 82nd death anniversary.
