The pianist, composer, soprano and music therapist Renan Koen is giving a series of Holocaust-themed concerts in South Africa and the USA, in the context of the Holocaust Remembrance events.

Renan Koen, the pianist, composer, soprano, and music therapist, with the cooperation of the Turkish Embassy of Pretoria, gave 100 young people aged 14-17 Positive Resistance through Holocaust Reality education in Johannesburg Holocaust and Genocide Center on January 23rd. The same night at the same place she performed her 'Holocaust Remembrance / Before Sleep' concert, including special narratives about the music and the composers of Holocaust-era.

After Koen's 'Holocaust Remembrance / Before Sleep' narrative concert in the Turkish Embassy of Pretoria, the following day she performed a recital in the Johannesburg International Mozart Festival 2020, with the cooperation of the Turkish Embassy of Pretoria. The artist's new album 'Renan Koen: All Piano Works of Ali Darmar' will be released next week of Trio Lila Music, as attribution to her Africa launch.

Continuing her concert series, on Monday, January 27th, Renan Koen will be performing her 'Holocaust Remembrance / Before Sleep' narrative concert in the United Nations, with the cooperation of the Permanent Representative of Turkey to the United Nations and the Turkish Embassy of New York.

Her concerts will go on with the artist's performing the same concert in NYU together with the musicologist Michael Beckerman, on January 28th. Koen will also be performing a concert on January 30th, in the United States Congress, Washington D.C., in remembrance of the Romaniot and Sephardic victims of the Holocaust, consisting of the songs sung by the Jewish people while they were being transported from Greece to Auschwitz.
