Edirne’s Sephardic Cuisine Under Examination in the Museum of Turkish Jews

A research is being initiated about the distinct foods of Ottoman and Turkish Jews, both in the past and in our day, in the Quincentennial Foundation Museum of Turkish Jews. This exploration will give us a chance to shed a light on the historical and cultural wealth of the past.

There are many books written on the subject of Turkish Jewish foods. However, these books are not classified according to the region. Following this workshop, further studies and workshops will be conducted to learn more about the Sephardic cuisine region by region thus documenting and creating an archive about the specific foods of Turkish Jews.

The workshop that is going to start on September 18th will be moderated by Gilda Kohen. Anyone with a knowledge of especially Edirne cuisine, is requested to contact Ms. Teri at the Museum, through +90 212 2926333 numbered telephone.
