Meaningful Dialogue in New York

The Turkish American National Steering Committee (TASC) brought together President Tayyip Erdoğan, who was in New York for the 77th session of the United Nations General Assembly, with the Turkish and foreign community representatives living in the USA.

Besides some ministers, and Turkish and foreign community members from various states of the USA, representing the Turkish Jewish Community, the co-presidents of the TJC Erol Kohen and Ishak Ibrahimzadeh, and the representatives of the American Jewish organizations also attended the banquet on Sunday evening at the Rockefeller Center Plaza, where approximately 300 guests were present.

As an appreciation plaque was presented to Kohen and Ibrahimzadeh on behalf of the Turkish Jewish Community that has been among the sponsors of the evening, President Erdoğan thanked them for their contributions.

President Erdoğan, on the same day, welcomed Ronald Lauder, the President of the World Jewish Congress (WJC) at the Turkish House (Turkevi) in New York. The co-presidents of the Turkish Jewish Community Erol Kohen and Ishak Ibrahimzadeh were also present during the meeting which lasted for about one hour.

On Monday, Erdoğan met the representatives of the prominent American Jewish organizations at the Turkevi (Turkish House). It was stated that the meeting, to which Erol Kohen and Ishak Ibrahimzadeh also attended, has been productive.

Representatives of many organizations including the Executive Vice Chairman of the Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations Malcolm Hoenlein, the CEO of the Jewish Community Relations Council of New York Gideon Taylor, the President of The Foundation for Ethnic Understanding Rabbi Marc Schneier, the Chairman of the American Jewish Congress Jack Rosen, the Director Emeritus of the Anti-Defamation League Abraham Foxman, and the CEO of the Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations William Daroff attended the meeting which was held closed to the press.
