Turkey and Istanbul left behind all the other countries, in the issue of receiving flights from Israel. The highest number of flights from Israel is to Turkey.

During the January-July term, the number of passengers between Israel and Turkey, including the transit passengers, has increased 7% and reached 1,220,000. Number of passengers between USA and Israel is recorded as 1,023,000, France and Israel as 861,000 for the same period of time.  

While a new record is set in the number of passengers in corresponding flights, the highest number of passengers from Israel to a city, was to Istanbul in corresponding flights, with a high of 637,000 passengers. Istanbul left behind the most prestigious airports of the world, namely Paris’s Charles de Gaulle, London’s Heathrow and New York’s JFK.

Turkey is the 1st destination 

According to the information taken from Tel Aviv Ben Gurion Airport, a passenger number record was set in the flights between Israel and Turkey in the 2019 January-July time period. It is reported that especially connect flights from Israel through Istanbul have increased. 

In the Israeli market, Turkish airports and Turkish airlines have reached a very high number of passengers. Along with an increase of 5.50%, Turkish Airlines (THY) carried 631,000 passengers and Pegasus carried 300,000 passengers, including transits, between Tel Aviv Ben Gurion Airport and Turkey in 7 months. 

In the ranking of passenger traffic with Tel Aviv Ben Gurion Airport, Istanbul was ranked 1st, with 637,000 passengers by an increase of 6.53%. Sabiha Gökçen Airport was in the same ranking, with 277,000 passengers by an increase of 12% and Antalya Airport with an increase of 0.75%.
