From the Museum of Turkish Jews: ´The Ottoman Order and Seal´

The Ottoman order and seal belonging to the Bursa Chief Rabbi Moshe Benhabib was given to him by the Ottoman Sultan Abdülhamid.

On the red velvet box of the 'Order of the Medjidie', there is the tughra (calligraphic monogram of a sultan that was affixed to all official documents and correspondence) of Sultan Abdülhamid (1876-1909). On the seal, it says 'Hüdavendigar (meaning gift from God) Chief Rabbi Deputy Musa Bin Habib.

The order and seal can be seen in the glass showcase displaying documents about the Chief Rabbinate of the Quincentenial Foundation Museum of Turkish Jews.
