Lawsuit Filed Against Children Who had Vandalized Hasköy Cemetery

A lawsuit is filed on the charges of "damaging the places of worship and cemetery" regarding the four children for whom an investigation had started in the aftermath of the inspection and examination of the security footage concerning the vandalism in the Hasköy Cemetery.

In the indictment prepared by the Istanbul Office of Chief Public Prosecutor, charges were filed for four children, two girls and two boys, aged between 12-13. In the context of the indictment, the Turkish Chief Rabbinate Foundation was stated as the "damaged party".

In the indictment, it was stated that, according to the video surveillance official report, the children's damaging the tombstones by climbing on the graves and removing the tombstones was determined. Children were asked to be sentenced to imprisonment from six months to two years. This was accepted by the Istanbul Juvenile Court. The trial of the children will begin in the coming days.
