The Turkish Jewish Community stated that 36 tombstones have been broken in the Hasköy Jewish Cemetery, in Istanbul.

Turkish Jewish Community made a statement via Twitter about the incident where 36 tombstones have been destroyed by unidentified people.

Turkish Jewish Community, in their tweet where the Ministry of Interior of Turkey and Governorship of Istanbul were tagged, stated, "Some people have entered our Hasköy Cemetery last night and destroyed 36 of our tombstones. The issue has been forwarded to the relevant authorities along with all the photographs and the night recordings, in the expectation that the people who had performed this vandalism should be caught right away."

The Presidential Spokesperson Ibrahim Kalın in his statement via Twitter said, "We strongly condemn this heinous attack. The relevant authorities have taken action to locate the perpetrators. We shall never allow those who attack sacred values and try to sow seeds of chaos and hostility in our society."
