Sapir Saban performed at Israel’e 70th anniversary reception
Turkish-origin Israeli singer Sapir Saban mesmerized the guests with her performance at Israel’s 70th anniversary reception.
Last Tuesday evening, Israel’s 70th anniversary of independence was celebrated at a reception in Istanbul. Guests included diplomats, business people, representatives from media and various artists.
With her band, Sapir Saban who won “The Voice of Israel” singing competition last year with the Turkish song “Haydi Soyle”, gave a concert.
Saban and the band mesmerized the audience with Turkish and Hebrew songs. The singer received a warm welcome from the audience and the audience joined her during the singing of both country’s national anthems.
Yosef Levi-Sfari, the Consul General of Israel in Istanbul gave a speech at the event and highlighted the importance of Turkish-Israeli relations that goes back a long way. Levi-Sfari mentioned that throughout history, Ottoman Empire and the Republic of Turkey have helped Jewish people several times.
