´Bicycle Exhibition´ at Museum of the Princes´ Islands

A bicycle exhibition themed '137 Years on the Bike Across Princes' Islands' curated by Aydan Çelik, has been opened in the Museum of the Princes' Islands located in Büyükada, Istanbul.

The exhibition, which was opened on September 1st, in the Büyükada Aya Nikola main building of the Museum of the Princes' Islands, is shedding light on Istanbul, especially the Princes' Islands, and the history of the bicycle which, in years, has turned into a trademark of the Princes' Islands. The exhibition features the bicycles, accessories, oral history narratives, and memories of many people who had lived on the Islands such as writers, athletes, and historical figures, besides many islanders who had grown up on a bike and cycled the island roads.

Among the approximately 40 bikes exhibited, there are also the bicycles of the Inönü Family, Mehmet Ali Aybar, Zahrad the poet, and the famous bike racer Garbis Bora. The exhibition which will be open for six months, while shedding light on the history of the bicycle, is also presenting a suggestion to overcome the climate crisis.
