Just like Silvyo Ovadya mentioned in his article in Şalom, “You won’t believe so many Jews have lived in this small town of Gelibolu unless you examine these records.” This book, in order for everyone to be able to understand, is published both in Turkish and English. The English part of the book is translated by Vivian Kohen.

For everyone whose roots are originally from this land, population registries of the Ottoman Period are the most striking of the reference guides. This 1845 population register of the Gelibolu Jewish Community provides us with many details about the members of the community of that time.
