Moiz Theater Company got the Paris audience rolling in the aisles with laughter

Moiz Theater Company, invited by Paris Aki Estamoz Institution, attended the 4th Ladino Festival on July 8-13 in Paris. On the third day of the festival, the company performed a one-hour play which made the crowded audience burst into laughter.

They put their recent play, ‘La Kaza De Moiz De Ayer A Oy’ on stage which they had performed in Istanbul in Turkish and Ladino. Their performance in Paris was in French and Ladino. The cast included the one and only Jojo Eskenazi who gives life to the leading Moiz character, Fani Bonofiyel, Solita Algazi, Tuna Eskenazi and Yusuf Ciprut. Leon Bonofiyel contributed to the play with his ideas.

Upon his return to Turkey, Jojo Eskenazi said, “We had represented Turkish Jewish Community at Vienna University, in 2017. This year, we are proud to have represented our community in Paris. We are expecting many more invitations from several countries where people know or speak Ladino.”
