GKD is putting a heart trenching human tragedy on stage

The play depicts Struma ship disaster which took place during World War II and went down in history as a heart-trenching human tragedy. The play is dedicated to prominent businessman Isak Alaton who recently passed away.

GKD’s President Dogan Yildiz, “We are not one of those people who had the chance to talk to people who witnessed history. However, we do have a mission to witness history now and pass it onto the future. We’ve dedicated our play to Isak Alaton. We know that he was very much interested in Struma disaster and had mentioned Struma disaster in many of his interviews. His children Leyla and Vedat Alaton were thrilled when they heard about our play."

The play with a cast of 50 people is directed by Aksel Bonfil.
